A NO-NONSENSE APPROACH TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Despite quantum leaps in the development of faster systems and software capabilities, the technology landscape of the recent past is littered with IT projects that were well conceived, but ultimately provided little or no measurable return on investment.

Many organizations today are grappling with the issues of solving major problems as quickly and cost effectively as possible while maintaining a solid return on investment, and assuring connectivity between applications and business intelligence systems.

Most have bought or built problem specific applications which become information silos and do not integrate into the overall enterprise strategy, or implemented enterprise-wide solutions and then discovered that the complexity and human factors involved in such endeavors are difficult to manage, cost-prohibitive, and ultimately carry an unacceptable risk of total failure and complete loss of the overall investment.

Global Technology Solutions helps our clients deal with these issues in several ways.

Our Business Process.  When you do business with Global Technology Solutions, Inc., regardless of whether you are buying our products "of-the-shelf" or we are building a fully customized solution, three documents will be created to ensure that your project goes smoothly.

  1. The first is a vision document.  This document is typically one to two pages.  It spells out what the project is going to accomplish at a high level and ensures that all parties are on the same page (literally).  It serves as a basis to begin discovery of your requirements.

  2. The second is a functional specification.  This document is created following our discovery and requirements analysis.  It a detailed description of all deliverables and a project plan, outlining dates, scope, and cost for the entire project or project phase.  The functional specification is a legally binding document that we use to ensure agreement upon exactly what will be delivered.  It also includes a "sign-off" sheet which lists the exact procedure that will be followed upon completion of the deliverables to ensure that all parties are assured a predictable outcome.

  3. Once we have approval on the functional specification, we create the development documentation.  this document is used by developers, systems administrators, and engineers (ours and any client personnel involved) to build, test, deploy,  and manage the deliverables.

By employing a consistent proven process to accomplish the project objectives, we ensure that our clients will receive the project deliverables that they expect, on time, and on budget.

Our products are browser based.  This means that the user interface can be easily modified to emulate the look and feel of existing or legacy applications that your staff are already familiar with.  Additionally, the default design of our applications are intended to behave much like web applications that the average internet user comes into contact with on a daily basis.  Our goal is to make the application as easy to use as buying a book at your favorite website or biding for an item in an online auction.

Our products are database independent.  Our extensive consulting experience in the design of transaction processing systems, data transformation and warehousing, and business intelligence reporting provides the expertise to integrate our application into your existing IT infrastructure and provides you with the peace of mind that the products you deploy today will work with those of the future.

Our Products are highly customizable.  We are passionate about meeting our clients business objectives, rather than trying to modify the objectives to fit our products.
